Liquid Flavours
The following range of liquid flavours have been exclusively blended by Essential Products using a combination of natural and nature identical flavour compounds. Further to this, the flavour base has been formulated to remain stable at high temperatures, therefore, unlike many other flavours, these will not ‘boil out’ during the bait making (boiling) stages.
Shellfish Plum
A very subtle combination of two extremely good flavour compounds blended together to create a very synergistic flavour link. Works brilliantly in combination with fishmeals that contain fruit based palatants, and its use alongside our FF6 within the famous Shellfish B5 recipe has become legendary within the bait world.

Cranberry Squid
Another extremely good flavour link that incorporates marine and fruit compounds blended together to create a very unique aromatic profile. It is a very good alternative to the Shellfish Plum within the B5 recipe and customers taking advantage of our custom bait rolling service often request this one in the B5 to give their bait a slightly different ‘taste’ profile to the standard recipe.

Cranberry
The best and most attractive Cranberry flavour we have ever seen and one that works very well in fishmeal or birdfood type recipes. It also works very well in cold temperatures and we use it in our Cranberry Red frozen ready mades, which have a superb winter track record. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that it only works well in low temps though, this is an all season cracker!

Crayfish F-1
A nature identical flavour based on a formulation of complex esters that replicate one of the carp’s favourite natural food sources – Crayfish! Ideally suited for fish, meat or savoury type base mixes and works particularly well within our Force-10 Base mix recipe.

Caramel Cream
A rich, smooth creamy caramel flavour that works very well in birdfood type recipes with milk protein backgrounds. The Caramel Cream certainly matches up very well with milk proteins and this combination goes some way to explaining why this flavour has proved so devastating in conjunction with our Cream-CSM base mix.

Pineapple Xtra
This is the latest addition to the Essential flavour range and we can promise you that you won’t find a better or more effective Pineapple flavour on today’s market. We have blended an extra additive into the base to give it an extra ‘edge’ over other Pineapple flavours being used, which at the same time increases its palatability factor and keeps it stable during the boiling process.

Natural Squid
We’ve been using this flavour for a few years within our custom bait rolling portfolio and it’s been proving very successful within the B5, particularly in conjunction with our Squid-Stim powder. Ideally suited to fish or savoury type base mixes due to its ‘smokey squid’ aroma but would no doubt work in alternative recipes for the more adventurous!

Mike on flavours
I’ve always believed that flavours play a vitally important roll within the creation of a successful long term recipe. They will not only give the finished bait it’s own unique taste profile, but give it a distinctive ‘label’ that the carp will come to recognise through association.
Be careful not to get flavours confused with attractors though, because in terms of nutritional value, unlike liquid foods, they have little or no food value at all, however, for the reasons outlined above, I believe they are a very important addition to any successful recipe.
